Value engineering design of a walkway underpass being part of the mega Bangsue Grand Station project. The underground walkway shall comfortably connect passengers from various nearby facilities, station facility park, public bus terminal, etc., to new railway station.
The L-shape walkway comprises approximately 77 m long walkway of 4 m width, then widened to 10 m width of walkway hall with 57 m length connecting to basement of Bangsue Grand Station.
NCE resolved various conflicts found on site and eventually redesigned the entire underpass. The top roof structure is designed to support the main road in front of the station. The construction method for this underpass is the conventional open-cut method.
