Baromrajchonnee Underpass is a new underpass located at the Baromrajchonnee junction on Charansanitwong road. The total width of underpass is 12 m, providing 2 traffic lanes, i.e. one traffic way for each bound, with total underpass length of 725 m. The redesign work for this underpass is carried out by using the concept of diaphragm wall with precast top slab, and precast compression strut.
The work included design check during construction stage and check of temporary supports for conventional top-down excavation method. The interaction between diaphragm walls and surrounding soil was considered during excavation in order to reduce the amount supports required during construction.
